Research & Development

ReSuture is on a mission to ensure safer surgery and medical device development through pioneering technology and design. Our aim is to be the first company capable of delivering quantitative data on surgical performance, achieved through robust research partnerships with prestigious institutions such as St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, the Mayo Clinic, and the Arizona State University Department of Machine Learning. Our transformative research is backed by substantial funding, including a $1M Phase II SBIR grant from the National Science Foundation (US) and support from the Arizona WearTech Center. With a focus on lifelike physical simulations, innovative sensors, and advanced data analysis, ReSuture is poised to bring a unique combination of technologies to market, providing valuable insights into medical device performance and surgical skill. This technology will empower both surgeons and medical device manufacturers to deliver an elevated standard of care.

We are actively developing sensing technology and machine learning algorithms that can effectively measure and differentiate surgical skill, enabling us to establish objective and defined performance metrics. By leveraging our expertise, ReSuture is set to provide invaluable insights into the performance of medical devices and surgeons during simulated operations.
